About Princeton Reuse

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing construction and renovation waste by salvaging quality materials and getting them back into the community.

Our Mission

Princeton Reuse exists to make deconstruction and material reuse the default choice in our region. We carefully dismantle buildings to preserve valuable items—doors, cabinets, fixtures, lumber, flooring—and then make them available at affordable prices to homeowners, makers, artists, and builders.

By extending the life of materials, we cut disposal costs for donors, reduce embodied carbon, and support local projects with character and history.

What We Do

  • Selective Deconstruction that preserves reusable materials
  • Material Donations with simple photo-based intake
  • A community Reuse Center with affordable inventory

  • Our Goal

    • Thousands of items salvaged and rehomed
    • Landfill diversion on deconstruction projects often 60–90%*
    • Lower project disposal costs for donors

    • Affordable materials for homeowners and makers
    • Support for school, art, and community projects
    • Reduced embodied carbon through reuse. More on our actual impact here.

*Actual diversion varies by building and scope.
